Qona Rankin designs and makes one off pieces of jewellery by hand. Having completed a BA in 3D design at Kingston University she then worked for John Donald in Cheapside for two years. Qona then set up her Jewellery workshop in Barley Mow Chiswick. In 1983 she graduated from the Royal Collage of Art, and continued to design and make jewellery, which she sold through various retailers.
Qona now has a workshop in her home in West London where she continues to produce various ranges of jewellery as well as working to commission.
‘Because of my dyslexia school was a nightmare and I hated it. My escape was sport and making things both of which I still get enormous enjoyment from. When I was at the Royal Collage of Art I nearly failed my dissertation because of my dyslexia. I am now the dyslexia coordinator at the Royal Collage of Art, which is wonderfully ironic.’
